Introducing a new alternative for tummy tuck surgery by Dr. Iraniha
Introducing a new alternative for tummy tuck surgery. I’m Dr. Andrew iraniha and in this video, I’d like to discuss about my unique minimally invasive surgical procedure for repairing Diastasis recti and tightening the abdominal wall as an alternative for tummy tuck surgery. If you or someone you know has been considering tummy tuck surgery, this video is for you. So Let’s dive in.
First, let’s understand what Diastasis recti surgery is. Diastasis recti is a condition where the midline abdominal rectus muscles so called six pack muscles separate, typically caused by factors like pregnancy or significant weight gain. This separation creates a gap in the midline of the abdomen, leading to a protruding belly and weakened core muscles.” This condition not only cause a distended abdomen which is esthetically unpleasant but it also could be associated with lower back pain, abnormal posture, and discomfort during exercise.
Full or mini tummy tuck surgery
Traditionally, the go-to surgical option for Diastasis recti repair in Orange County has been full or mini tummy tuck surgery. These two procedures involve a horizontal incision in the bikini line , separation of the skin off the abdominal muscles all the way to the rib cage, repair the Diastasis recti, removal of excess skin and fat, and repositioning of the belly button in mini tummy tuck or recreating of a new belly button in full tummy tuck surgery. Even though they are both great procedures to address the abdominal wall bulge with excess skin but they could be associated with long recovery and some potential risks and complications, including skin infection, skin necrosis and postoperative fluid collection called seroma. Most of these potential complications are related to the extensive separation of the skin off the abdominal muscle from the bikini line to the rib cage in order to repair the Diastasis recti which partially disrupts the circulation to the skin flap and increase the post operative risks and recovery time.
Innovative laparoscopic procedure
Now, let me introduce you to my innovative laparoscopic surgery procedure, which provides a compelling alternative to tummy tuck surgery.
This new alternative is a combo procedure of laparoscopic surgery repair of Diastasis recti with mini mini tuck to remove the excess skin. In this combo procedure, I initially create three 1 cm small incisions in the lower abdomen and using camera and special instruments repair the Diastasis recti from the rib cage to the lower abdomen from inside which eliminates the need for extensive skin separation of tummy tuck surgery. Subsequently, a curvilinear incision is made in the bikini line and lower abdominal skin only to the level of belly button is separated to pull and excise the excess skin including the three smaller laparoscopic incisions. In this procedure I can preserves the natural position of the belly button or reposition the belly button if it’s necessary to maintain its original appearance.” This part of the combo procedure is called “mini mini tuck”. Overall, This unique combo procedure minimizes the skin separation, disruption of the circulation and trauma of the surgery which all translate to less post operative complications and faster recovery.
New combo laparoscopic procedure
Every patient is unique, and their needs may vary. For a long time full tummy tuck and mini tummy tuck were only two procedures that were offered to all patients, but my new combo of laparoscopic surgey in Orange County with mini mini tuck offers another reasonable alternative, specially for patients with only abdominal wall bulge and minimal excess skin, or patient for higher risk of postoperative complications that are interested to have less invasive surgery with faster recovery. By having this option, i can tailor the surgery to individual requirements, ensuring the best possible outcome for each individual patient. But don’t just take my word for it. Please visit my YouTube channel, my website and social media for before and after photos and patient’s testimonies and reviews from some of my patients who have undergone this laparoscopic procedure and experienced remarkable results.
