Laparoscopic Intra-Corporeal Anastomotic Technique by Dr Iraniha
Dr Iraniha Laparoscopic Specialist at Surgical Oasis Orange County Surgical Center operated a 45 years old female with history of hysterectomy in the past. She presented lower abdominal pain, abdominal distension and obstipation and found to have complete small bowel obstruction on her CT scan. She underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy surgery which showed strangulated loop of ileum in an internal hernia created by a very tight adhesion between right side of pelvic wall and sigmoid colon. The adhesion was released and the strangulated, necrotic loop of ileum was resected and a primary anastomosis was created. This video demonstrates the use of Voyant energy device to mobilize the adhesion and divide the mesentery of the strangulated loop of ileum easily with no bleeding. It also demonstrates the primary laparoscopic anastomosis of the viable loops of bowel with intra-corporeal anastomotic technique. Dr Iraniha Laparoscopic Specialist proceeded with Laparoscopic Intra-Corporeal Anastomotic Technique which it leaded to less post-operative pain, faster recovery and less hospital stay. Two days after the laparoscopic surgery she was started on diet, had bowel activity and went home on the following day.
