Robotic Assisted Mini Tummy Tuck by Dr. Iraniha
For the first time in Southern California and perhaps in the United States, I am presenting a Mini Tummy Tuck or mini abdominoplasty with floating umbilicus technique with Da Vinci Robotic Surgery Systems. This is a 45 years old female who after two pregnancies developed abdominal wall laxity, a large diastasis of rectus muscles and periumbilical abdominal wall hernia which created an unsightly abdominal wall “baby pooch”. She was petite, with no excess fat and minimal extra skin and therefore the best option to repair her “baby pooch” was to perform a mini tummy tuck with floating umbilicus to repair the hernia, repair the diastasis, tighten the abdominal wall, relocate the umbilicus to a more normal position and remove some extra skin.
Robotic Assisted Mini Tummy Tuck Robotic Procedure
This video demonstrates the robotic surgery part of this procedure. Robotic platform allowed a precise dissection of the subcutaneous tissue and skin off of the abdominal wall fascia through a small incision to preserve the perforate blood vessels, maintain the blood circulation to the skin flap and minimize the bleeding. It also enhance the ability to repair a very long diastasis of rectus muscles through the small incision. This tummy tuck or abdominoplasty procedure was performed in a outpatient setting and post-operative course was smooth and unremarkable. Surgery performed by Dr.Iraniha Robotic Surgery Expert in Orange County, California.
