Robotic ight hemi-colectomy with intra-corporeal anastomosis by Dr Iraniha
This is a 67 years old male who found to have adenocarcinoma of the appendix after an appendectomy for acute appendicitis. Therefore, he required right hemi-colectomy for completion of oncological resection and staging. This video demonstrates the application of the robotic platform for medial to lateral approach for partial colectomy with primary intra-corporeal anastomosis. The wrested instrumentation and superb visualization of the robotic platform allowed the surgeon to proceed with minimally invasive approach which later lead to less post-operative pain, faster recovery and less hospital stay. This patient tolerated the procedure very well and had an uneventful recovery.
